News Khabran / Re: Sikh woman charged for Seeking Hitman to commit double murder in Canada« on: April 08, 2010, 07:16:59 PM »
About her Bail Hearing ...
Amarjit Lally is a short heavy-set woman with a thick mane of long dark hair loosely tied in the back. The 45-year-old Surrey woman leaned against the glass that surrounded the prisoner's box to better hear a translator explain the decision to allow her to go free on $100,000 bail until she stands trial for attempting to arrange the murders of two people. She was also ordered to turn her passport over to the Delta police Department. Details of the Wednesday afternoon bail hearing in Surrey Provincial Court are covered by a court-ordered ban on publication that forbids reporting evidence presented during the hearing. However, the ban does not apply to the case of her husband, who is charged with spousal assault, and who appeared in court after his wife. He will be allowed to return to the family home because she has now been ordered to live elsewhere. Outside court, Lally's lawyer Russ Chamberlain compared the case to "The Night of the Iguana" the Tennessee Williams short story and play that features a desperate woman driven to desperate acts. "I've never dealt with a case such as this in my 42 years of practice," Chamberlain said. He said his client was in crisis, with a husband accused of abusing her and financial difficulties. "She felt she had no [other] place to turn to and she turned to the wrong place," Chamberlain told reporters "She was not a woman who was herself." Lally will return to court April 21. The DPD learned about the murder-for-hire scheme in January of this year. The intended victims, who knew Lally, were notified and protective measures were put in place during the course of the investigation, police said. Lally has been charged with two counts of counselling another person to commit an indictable offence. 4105
News Khabran / Sikh woman charged for Seeking Hitman to commit double murder in Canada« on: April 08, 2010, 07:10:08 PM »
Toronto: A 45-year-old Sikh woman has been arrested by Canadian police for her alleged involvement in a double-murder-for-hire plot.
According to police, Amarjit Kaur Lally planned to kill two individuals by hiring a hit man at Delta city in British Columbia. Lally, who has appeared in Surrey provincial court yesterday, was charged with two counts of counselling to commit an indictable offence - murder, The Vancouver Sun reported. She was remanded in custody. "Lally was arrested after a six-week investigation initiated after a tip to the force," Delta police constable Sharlene Brooks said without giving any details about the intended targets. "The intended victims were notified by police with respect to their risk of personal harm and safety, and protection measures were put into place during the course of the investigation," Brooks said. "We believe that money is the motive behind this. Obviously when we receive information of this nature we take it seriously, and we embarked on an investigation." Lally was convicted in Delta in 1997 of theft and got a six-month suspended sentence and six months probation. 4106

News Khabran / Re: Sikh Man Attacked with Kirpan« on: April 07, 2010, 05:19:27 PM »
Here the news covered by a desi Media.
Like the incidence which occurred at Southall few days back, similar incidence happened here at Gurduwara Sikh Lehar Centre on 2 Apr 2010 where Prof. Darshan Singh was going to perform kirtan, about 200 Kalka panthis attacked the gurdwara. They had gathered in Glidden road Gurdwara which is just nearby. Approx. at 6pm these so called Taksaalis started protesting outside the gurdwara. Management of the gurdwara tried to console them, but they had different plans. They started quarreling. As police was outnumbered, fight broke out, more police force was called. When more police officers came to the scene, police just started cracking those nuts. 5-6 people were wounded and were taken to hospital. Gurudwara Management committe president S. Manjit Singh Mangat, S. Suchet Singh, S. Gurdev Singh and other members fought very courageously. S. Manjit Singh Mangat was injured during the fight, his and S. Suchet Singh's turbaned came off during the scuffle with miscreants. Peel Police officers then came to Prof. Darshan Singh’s residence and informed him about the proceedings. Police also suggested management to cancel the program and advised Prof. Darshan Singh to not to go there. With the advise of Gurdwara management and Police, this program was postponed. But now its clear with these sort of incidences that these Kalka Panthis are now afraid of Prof. Darshan Singh, as 100-200 people come to stop a single man. What a joke, shame on you Kalka panthi followers. The major difference between animals and human beings is of Thought (Brain). When there is no option left animals start fighting, like a donkey always hits with legs (dullatti), so as the people who have lost their ability to convey the message by talk, they start fighting, which shows that those human beings are just like animals. Same is the case of these Dasam Granthis. They are just like a donkey with the skin of Lion. These so called Taksaalis, who follows the so called Brahmgyani leader who shamelessly told lie in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib for 21 years, at that time they listened like a tame lamb, at that time they didn’t found anything against SGGS. Now when Prof. Darshan Singh is telling the truth about so called Dasam Granth and is getting the tremendous response, these taksaalis are trying to comeout of their skin. These Dasm Granthis must fix in their mind, that, kirtan programs will be held, no matter what. Sikhs are now divided into Shia – Sunni like muslims. Its very sad to see when one sikh topples another sikh’s turban, oh God, its not your turban, its Guru’s turban. Have some shame. People talk that what sort of people are these Sikhs, they don’t even spare their own religious place. When the Sikhs don’t have anyone to fight with, they start fighting with their own brothers. What a shameless crack head people. Its said that all over that Sikhs are don’t use their brain a lot, when someone tries to tell them something right to do, they don’t listen, rather start fighting. When so called lecherous Babas like Dadhri wala, Kamblee wala, Lullon wala, Kar sewa wala, Kaulan wala, Nanaksaria……… name anything……. they start wagging their tails behind them. But when somebody preaches Gurmat to them, these Dasam Granthis start attacking. God save Sikhs. Manjeet Managat is not liked by many Sikh Ppl in Toronto. Manjeet Managat is a lawyer and started a gurudwara where he himself claimed as the leader of the Gurudwara. Professional he is a lawyer but was promoted to Judge and then later I think demoted to Lawyer. Then he started a law office in Brampton and now own a plaza.
- There were almost 150 protestor who showed up... I think the protest was against the establishment of gurudwara or his leadership and then I believe more than one Sikh got pissed and try to stabbed him. But the actions were not wise (all personal view.. No source) - Sad story.. Will definately impact all the gurusikhs.. May result in difficulting of getting jobs for a Gurusikh as THIS Was also on CBC (Canadian Biggest Network - where they claiming to ban the Kirpan) 4112

News Khabran / China Hackers Launch Cyber Attack On India, Dalai Lama« on: April 06, 2010, 06:00:49 PM »
This news from the Research that recent happened at University of Toronto
A cyberespionage group based in China hacked into India's computer systems to steal sensitive documents from the India Defense Ministry and e-mails from the Dalai Lama's office highlighted in a Canadian report Tuesday, Reuters reports. The report, authored by Canadian and American researchers out of the University of Toronto, found that the attack was linked to an underground cyberespionage organization in the south of China, which might have funneled information to certain channels in the Chinese government. The stolen documents that were recovered contained sensitive information from India's National Security Council Secretariat, as well as classified documents detailing the security situation in bordering nations Tibet, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The report, titled "Shadows in the Clouds," indicated that Chinese cyberattackers capitalized on social networks such as Twitter, Google Groups and Yahoo (NSDQ:YHOO) Mail to propel a botnet designed to infiltrate and infect Indian computers with malware and connect them into Chinese command and control centers. Among the compromised systems subject to a massive data breach is the Shakti, the Indian Army's artillery combat and control system, as well as India's mobile missile defense system known as Iron Dome, according to Indianexpress.com. The eight-month investigation -- which researchers said is ongoing -- found that the Dalai Lama's office was targeted in the attacks between January and November 2009. A year ago, the same University of Toronto researchers authored another report describing a cyberattack on the Tibetan government, called "GhostNet," which was used to create a botnet that had infected 1,295 computers in 103 countries. Similarly, that investigation was launched at the behest of the Dalai Lama. China denied involvement in the attacks, and the country's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu told the BBC that the country was "firmly opposed to hacking." She added that the researchers had not contacted the Chinese government, although they claimed to have contacted China's Computer Emergency Response Team. The cyberattack against Tibet was initiated just days after Google (NSDQ:GOOG) discontinued its Chinese language search services from mainland China. High-profile cyberespionage has gained media attention in recent months after a sophisticated cyberattack was launched aimed at stealing intellectual property from the network of Google and more than 30 other corporations. Googel and security experts say that the attack originated from China. |
