KPS Gill is the true Prophet of Hate and Enemy of the State of India. He has used the rhetoric of national security and defense to commit heinous crimes against humanity and should be brought to trial at the international level. He has been instrumental in creating communal hatred between Sikhs and Hindus by his actions and his words.
He was not instrumental in ‘curbing’ terrorism he was instrumental in lining his own pockets and that of his police offers with financial incentives to kill innocent Sikhs and make it appear that they were terrorists. ‘Terrorism’ was defeated in Punjab by killing targeting all males between 15-35 years regardless of whether they were guilty or innocent. How a country deals with dissension; minorities; children and even animals is an indication of how evolved that society is………India has along way to go before it becomes a true democracy instead of the slave of corrupt politicians and evil men like KPS Gill

Family Jaswant Singh Khalra's grandfather Harnam Singh was an activist in the Ghadar movement for the independence of India.[1] [edit] Activism Jaswant Singh Khalra was a bank director in the city of Amritsar in Punjab during the militancy. Following Operation Blue Star, the assassination of Indira Gandhi, and the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots, police were empowered to detain suspects for any reason, ostensibly as suspected terrorists. Police were accused of killing unarmed suspects in staged shootouts and burning thousands [2] of dead bodies to cover up the murders. [3] While searching for some colleagues who went missing, Jaswant Singh Khalra discovered files from the municipal corporation of the city of Amritsar which contained the names, age, address of those who had been killed and later burned by the Police. [4] Further research revealed other cases in 3 other districts in Punjab, increasing the list by thousands. [5] The National Human Rights Commission released a list of some of the identified bodies that cremated in the police districts of Amritsar, Majitha and Tarn Taran between June 1984 to December 1994. That list can be viewed here. [edit] Murder and Coverup In 1995, while washing his car in front of his house, Khalra was abducted by under-cover commandos of Punjab Police at behest of Senior Superintendent of Police Ajit Singh Sandhu and taken to Jhabal police station.[6] Although witnesses gave statements implicating the police[6] and have named former police chief Kanwar Pal Singh Gill as a conspirator,[7] police denied having ever arrested or detained him, and claimed to have no knowledge of his whereabouts. In 1996, the Central Bureau of Investigation found evidence that he was held at a police station in Tarn Taran and recommended the prosecution of nine Punjab police officials for murder and kidnapping.[6] Those accused of his murder were not charged for ten years,[8] though one of the suspects committed suicide in 1997.[6] On November 18, 2005, six Punjab police officials were convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment for Khalra’s abduction and murder.[9] On October 16, 2007 a division bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court, chaired by Justices Mehtab Singh Gill and A N Jindal, extended the sentence to Life imprisonment for four accused Satnam Singh, Surinder Pal Singh, Jasbir Singh (all former Sub Inspectors) and Prithipal Singh (former Head Constable).[10][11] [edit] References 1. ^ Kumar, Ram; Singh,Amrik; Agrwaal, Ashok & Kaur, Jaskaran (2003). Jaswant Singh Khalra di koshish c eh te us nu inaam miliya c punajb police wallon sentence death
The following is the text of the public notice issued by the National human Rights Commission in The Tribune, on July 15, 2004.
REFERENCE CASE NO. 1/97/NHRC
(Arising out of the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated December 12, 1996 and
September 10, 1998 in Writ Petition No. 447/95 and 497/95)
PUBLIC NOTICE
Under the remit of the Supreme Court of India, the National Human Rights Commission is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the cremation, by the Punjab Police, of 2097 dead bodies as unclaimed/ unidentified in the police districts of Amritsar, Majitha and Tarn Taran between June 1984 to December 1994. If, as a result of the inquiry it is found that those 2097 dead bodies or some of them were cremated without following the lawful procedure or that there has been any other violation of human rights in relation to such deceased person, the Commission may in appropriate case or cases consider the question of grant of compensation to the legal heirs/NOK of the deceased.
For the aforesaid purpose, the National Human Rights Commission had invited claims/applications through a public notice from the legal heirs and dependants of the deceased. In response to the public notice 88 claims were received.
From the inquiry conducted so far, the CBI had submitted lists A,B and C furnishing the details of 582 identified dead bodies (List A), 278 partially identified dead bodies (List B) and 1237 unidentified dead bodies (List C).
The National Human Rights Commission undertook an exercise to further identify the dead bodies cremated by the Punjab Police. As a consequence thereof, 64 more deceased from the 'List B' and 47 more deceased from the 'List C' have been identified whose names have been added in 'List A' of the identified deceased. Thus, as on date the identity of the 693 cremations under investigation, has been definitely ascertained.
In its order dated 17.03.2004, the National Human Rights Commission observed that for effective determination of issues, including compensation, it is essential to invite claims from next of kin (NOK) of the cremated persons. Hence by this public notice, the National Rights Commission invites NOK of all such persons whose name figure in the CBI Lists A & B (being published along with this notice) to submit their claims, if any, in person or through counsel. NOK of persons, other than those mentioned in Lists 'A' and 'B', who also consider that they have some claim to prefer in respect of their 'unidentified' deceased (List C) may also, likewise submit their claims to the Commission in person or through their counsel. Such NOKs may also refer to 'List C' (being published along with the notice) containing available particulars of the 'unidentified' cremations.
The Commission clarifies that the 88 claimants, who had responded to the earlier notice, need not file fresh claims. A separate communication is being sent to them in connection with processing of their claims.
The claims/applications, giving details/particulars of the complainant, his relationship with the deceased as well as the names and addresses of other legal heirs of the deceased along with the particulars and the facts within the knowledge of claimant relevant for the determination of claim supported by an affidavit duly attested by an Oath Commissioner, should be sent either by Registered Post or submitted in person at the Commission's office at Sardar Patel Bhavan, Sansad Marg, New Delhi within 8 weeks from the date of publication of notice.
Belated and incomplete claims/applications are liable to be rejected summarily. Any false information given either in the claim/application form or in the affidavit would invite prosecution of the claimant.
GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND SEAL of the Commission this ______ day of May, 2004.

:excited:  :superhappy: =D> :okk: :okk:   :balle: :balle: :balle: :balle: :balle: :balle: :balle:    :excited: :excited: :excited: Contemplate for a moment Cheteshwar Pujara as he walked out to bat amongst dragonflies here at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday morning. What might he have been thinking?
India, chasing 207 on a fifth-day wicket in the second Test against Australia, had lost Virender Sehwag — caught smartly by wicketkeeper Tim Paine off a Ben Hilfenhaus lifter that had left the right-hander — with no more than 17 runs on the board.
Pujara's maiden innings had lasted three balls, terminated by a molly-grubber — the sort of dismissal that stays in the system, a splintered, worrisome bullet resistant to extraction. And not only had the 22-year-old replaced V.V.S. Laxman in the eleven, he had now replaced Rahul Dravid at one-drop.
Pressure
How intensely will Pujara have felt the pressures of the situation? Will he have known the snide lines that had already begun to circulate — that he was the ‘lunch-watchman', a sacrificial wicket before the break? Will he have wondered if the thousands of runs he had scored at the first-class level were any indication of his worth as a batsman?
These questions weren't so much answered as transcended in two hours and nine minutes of top-class batsmanship. All that remained after Pujara's 72 was for Sachin Tendulkar (53 n.o.) and Rahul Dravid (21 n.o.) to apply the finishing touches on India's seven-wicket win.
Fittingly, Tendulkar, with scores of 98, 38, and 214 this series, hit the winning runs, a paddle-swept, hard-scampered two, off Nathan Hauritz.
Very easy
Where the Mohali chase was a wonder, created from Laxman's magic-flecked batting and Ishant Sharma's spirit and spine, Bangalore was almost absurdly easy, a tricky target reached at a canter.
India strengthened its position at No. 1 with the victory; the 2-0 win was India's first clean-sweep against Australia in a series of two or more matches. Pujara's innings was the most recent instance of an Indian cricketer finding his best when his team most needed it — it's this quality, this resilience of character that has allowed India ascend Test cricket's throne. Although the crown doesn't sit as securely as it did on the heads of West Indies and Australia, such victories will help keep it.
Pujara knew on Wednesday morning that he would bat at ‘three', a tactical decision to inject the lower middle-order with Dravid's experience; he was told by India's council of elders not to dwell on the first-innings dismissal — easier said than done; Tendulkar asked him to believe in himself and trust the rest to a higher power.
Near mishap
Pujara decided he would stay in the present, he would react to each ball — batting's most fundamental tenet, but also its most forgotten. He wasn't quite in the present when he got off the mark; he nearly ran M. Vijay out. That would have been a tragedy, for Vijay had already batted splendidly, thinking little of the precariousness of India's position.
But after that fretful moment, Vijay and Pujara wrenched the game from Australia, putting on 72 off just 78 balls. Vijay played with nonchalant elegance, finding the gaps inevitable in diffused, in-out fields with wrist-work. He did enough when the Australians tried to attack his body with short-pitched deliveries, staying side-on as far as possible.
Pujara's batting has an uncut pleasantness about it, rough lines that smoothen surprisingly on occasion into conventional handsomeness. He's a tall man, not uncommonly so, but he's low with his hands in stance — they appear to rest between his legs and just beneath the knees. From this marginally ungainly posture, Pujara unfolds to meet the ball.
Sweet timing
The cover-drive off Mitchell Johnson that brought his first four wasn't lilting; but nor was it unattractive. The stooped push off the back-foot, against Hilfenhaus, looked clumsy, but the sweetness of the timing hung in the air like a jazz note.
Pujara played Hauritz beautifully, advancing with short, quick steps to drive past mid-off and through cover for fours. Most encouraging of all was his willingness to pull and hook, strokes he has developed and tested on tours of England and Australia with India ‘A'.
Pujara may have eventually been dismissed — playing inside the line, like Vijay (37) before him, beaten by the blend of angle and movement — but he had fulfilled his purpose.
Tendulkar reprised the veteran's reassuring part to complete what Zaheer Khan (three for 41) and Sreesanth (two for 48) had begun in the morning with reverse-swing.
Thus concluded a series of rich entertainment and grand drama. The cricket wasn't consistently of a high standard, but there were moments of splendour and greatness. We can ask for no more.

8-> :rabb:Oct 14: Conceding to Australia 8-0 in the hockey finals, India on Thursday, Oct 14 settled for a silver medal at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
Buzz up!
The World Champions, packed with defence, attacks and counter-attacks, coordination and team work, and excellent game tactics, proved too much for the hosts to handle in a one-sided match.
Indians did manage to dominate the game in the first 20 minutes of the match and it all went downhill from there.
Australia was leading 4-0 at half time, but the home crowd did not lose heart keeping in the mind the way the team had turned it around in the semifinals to win 5-4 in a penalty shootout after coming up from 3-1 down and scoring an equaliser 3-3 against England.
However, the fast and aggressive defending champions continued their pace and dished out a 8-0 defeat to grab the Gold.
Indians can take away one constructive lesson from this loss - work on penalty corners. Even though India got first penalty corner, it failed to convert it; Australians, on the other hand, converted almost every penalty corner into goals.
With this victory, Australia is wrapping up the year with a hat-trick victories following World Cup and the Champions Trophy.
For India, there is still a reason to rejoice as this is the first Commonwealth Games silver medal in the country's history. :excited:  :excited:  :okk: :superhappy: =D> :balle:  :excited:

:comeon:Beant assassination*HC upholds capital punishment awarded to Balwant Singh
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday commuted the death sentence awarded to Jagtar Singh Hawara, one of the prime accused in former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh’s assassination case, to life imprisonment. It, however, upheld the death awarded to another accused, Balwant Singh, by a lower court of Chandigarh.
Holding that Hawara was “merely a tool in the hands of Mehal Singh and Wadhawa Singh (both absconding)”, who had hatched the conspiracy to eliminate Beant Singh in Pakistan, the Division Bench comprising Justice Mehtab Singh Gill and Justice Arvind Kumar ruled that Hawara’s case was a “border line” case to be awarded death sentence. It also held that the CBI has failed to prove crucial accusations levelled against Hawara while making it it clear that he will be in jail for the rest of his life.

 * Cops emailed video of man's electrocution * Said it could fix Melbourne's "Indian problem" * Senior officers are implicated in scandal POLICE officers have been caught joking about the electrocution of an Indian train passenger in a racist email scandal. They circulated sickening video footage of the man being killed and suggested it could be a way to fix Melbourne's Indian student problem. The Herald Sun has discovered some of the force's highest-ranked officers have been implicated in the scandal, which also involves pornographic material. Three superintendents were nabbed during an investigation into the circulation of inappropriate emails through the police computer system. Several inspectors have also been caught. Emails probed by the Ethical Standards Department's Operation Barrot contain pornographic, homophobic, racist and violent material. Chief Commissioner Simon Overland described the emails as "disturbing, offensive and gross". Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar. make your own news service on igoogle One of the offending emails contained video footage showing the death of a man who was travelling on the roof of a crowded train in India. When the train stopped at a station the man stood up and touched an overhead power cable. Onlookers screamed as he was electrocuted. The email containing the shocking video began circulating in the Victoria Police computer system and racist comments were added, suggesting "this might be a way to fix the Indian student problem". It came at a time when force command was trying to ease racial tension after a number of assaults and incidents involving Indians living in Melbourne. Premier John Brumby yesterday criticised the actions of the police who circulated the racist material. "This is completely offensive and contrary to the views and values at the heart of the Victorian community - tolerance and respect," he said. A police spokesman said the emails were offensive. "These are matters which demanded we took action. Some of the content was extremely offensive and we can't tolerate that within the ranks of Victoria Police," he said. Federation of Indian Students spokesman Gautam Gupta said he was appalled. "It is outrageous that police officers would joke about the death of anyone. I am really shocked. This is humour in very, very bad taste," he said. None of the superintendents or inspectors caught during the sweep have been interviewed by ESD yet. But the Herald Sun believes it has been unofficially suggested to two long-serving superintendents they should retire as soon as possible to avoid disciplinary action. A sergeant, two leading senior constables and a senior constable have already been sacked and six other low-ranking police have been demoted or fined. Healesville sergeant Tony Vangorp took his life in March after being suspended and being told he faced the sack over inappropriate emails. Fifteen officers will be dealt with at disciplinary hearings in the next fortnight.
