Punjab minister Bibi Jagir Kaur gets 5-year jail term for female foeticideCHANDIGARH: Punjab minister Bibi Jagir Kaur was sentenced to five years imprisonment by a CBI court in Patila on Friday for her role in the mysterious death of her daughter Harpreet Kaur in 2000. Kaur, the minister for rural water supply & sanitation and defence services, was arrested soon after the judgement was out and sent to judicial custody for 14 days along with three others convicted. Kaur has been held guilty under various sections of the Indian Penal Code - Section 120-B (conspiracy), 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent), 344 (wrongful confinement for 10 days or more) and 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent of secretly and wrongfully to confine person). The verdict comes as a major embarrassment for the recently re-elected Akali government which made saving girl child a main issue in its election manifesto. Shiv Sena gives such a bad names to everyday Hindus. I have yet to see them do something positive. It always seems like Shiv Sena's purpose is to just go to create riots (Gujarat/Punjab/Bombay).  Actually the main corrupt in all this is media...they are showing one sided stories, but kudos to 'The Hindu' being the first in mainstream media to bring out the truth. Hope others will follow the same and do justice to journalism.

The government has asked Patiala jail to hang him for the second time. It was refused by the superintendent of Patiala Jail the first time... I find this message quite interesting: What would you do the person who killed Kony? Will your government Hang him? Well, India has several Kony's and one of them was the Chief Minister of Punjab named Beant (responsible for killing thousands of Sikh youth in Punjab) and he was assasinated by Balwant Singh Rajoana. Rajoana spent the last 17 years in jail and now be hung on March 31st. Where is the Justice? Stand up for the truth and in solidarity for Rajoana.
