I think they want to be treated equally on one hand and then also get the special benefits that the Indian laws give them. And believe me, people who claim lower caste have higher benefits (which is ethically wrong); this is one thing very wrong with Punjab. Sikhs do not claim reservations or lower status, so all the jobs that are guaranteed to go to lower caste people are lost. In this sense, the Sikhs suffer in their own land. Sikhs have argued for this strange discrimination, but the central government of course does not care (votes is about all they'll ever care about).
I'm not sure if you know, but Dalits and Christian are hated all over India by Hindus (I'm not saying all Hindus. But Hindu fundamentalist organizations like RSS are known to be the perpetrators of violence against Dalits/Christians). If you watch the news, you can find at least one incident any day.

Damn everything's nice; Flat screen monitor is nice, 4 GB ram is awesome. Which Windows version are you running? I just bought one of those wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse, but it turns out the range on the mouse is not too good. I wanted to control my PC through my TV, but the mouse range ruined it. I've heard about some mobile mods that let you do it, so I'm trying some of those out. The best thing on my computer is that I got 4 hard drives:

There's no official ranking. I consider the following 3 to be top-notch at the moment. They're very hard to get into for most teams. Vancouver's VIBC (Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration), which is considered very elite. They have tons of events happening the same week. This is scheduled for Feb 2009. Long Beach, California's Bruin Bhangra (May) is very big. Boston's BBC (Boston Bhangra Competition), which is gaining popularity by each year. This one just happened in November 2008.
