 He replaced David Beckham as Adidas’s new poster boy. On the Adidas 'Nothing Is Impossible' advertising campaigns billboards, spread across London, he was sitting cross-legged; as if cooling his heals after a day’s work out, peeping over Londoners, tired and overworked, telling them the secrets of his unfailing energy. Fauja Singh, Britain’s most popular Sikh is 98 now, and the oldest runner in the London Marathon. He is threatening to break his own world record of 5.40 hours in the 90 plus age bracket that he set previously. While running Marathon races in London, New York and Toronto, he raised thousands of pounds for various charities promoting Sikh culture around the world. He has also raised money for B.L.I.S.S., a charity dedicated to the care for premature babies. He describes it as the ‘oldest running for the youngest. Fauja’s jogging skills were developed on an Indian farm in Punjab, and then at the magical age of 81, when he moved to the UK, his love for the sport became more “serious." Fauja Singh (born April 1, 1911) is a Sikh marathon runner in his nineties from India who is a world-record holder in his age bracket. His current personal best time for the London marathon is 6 hours 2 minutes, and his marathon record, for age 90-plus, is 5 hours 40 minutes. Fauja Singh shot to fame, when aged 89, he completed the gruelling 26.2 mile distance in 6 hours and 54 minutes. This knocked 58 minutes off the previous world best for anyone in the 90 plus age bracket. The career of this extraordinary Marathon runner is closely supervised by his personal trainer Harminder Singh. He says ‘he can still run for a few more years. And perhaps he might be the oldest man to run a Marathon. Fauja Singh came to London in 1992 to live with his son after his wife’s death in his village in Jalandhar. He says ‘Sitting at home was really killing. Most elderly people in Britain eat a rich diet, don’t move about and only travel in cars, and that makes them sick’. He wasn’t prepared to go the same way. So he took up jogging initially to beat the boredom of sitting at home.

Schwarzenegger has just killed hope for Sikhs to gain public attention in California with the Kirpan Bill. Please email him to let him know how you feel.Sacramento, CA (October 11, 2009) - In a surprise blow to the Sikh community, Governor Schwarzenegger last night vetoed a bill that would educate law enforcement officers about Sikh articles of faith. The Governor's decision came as a shock to dozens of organizations, communities and lawmakers who supported the bill. The veto was particularly surprising given the unanimous, bipartisan votes in favor of the bill through both houses of the legislature (77-0 and 36-0 in the Assembly and Senate, respectively). Take Action: Either email or call (916-445-2841) Governor Schwarzenegger. Let him know how you feel about him dismissing legislation to ensure law enforcement education on the Sikh articles of faith. Make sure you tell him, "Your lack of support for California's religious minorities is deeply disappointing. As an immigrant yourself, I would have hoped that you would see fit to support other minorities in our diverse community."

PENDU - Global Moderator - Right now, one of the oldest members on PJ is PENDU. He is the 672th member to register on PJ (I'm #1 btw lol). He's been with us through the hard times and the good times. He has been fixing old topics (old formatting) and bumping them up for a long time as a local moderator (he had also volunteered for this task). He has now volunteered to run the competitions for us. Downstairs from where I work in Boston, they're shooting a hollywood movie, the untitled wichita project, with tom cruise and cameron diaz. They've retaking the same scene for the last 1 hour. Pretty exciting stuff. Lots of paparazzi and fans downstairs.
I took some pics, but my phone camera is trashy, so no good!

Mann Sahib - Global Mod - Forums that he posts heavily in: Bhangra Videos, Punjabi Stars, Bhangra Punjabi Lyrics. You gotta notice the effort he puts in. He also is an active member in chat. Recently he's providing punjabi ringtones for all. Manmohni - Sub-Admin - Let's see where do I begin (she does so much). She uploads to gallery, welcome messages to newly registered users (this is my favorite work of hers), awesome thoughtful and useful topics on forum... Like I cannot list all her activities, but they are apparent. If there is one person I've been waiting to promote for some time, it's been her. Eh ik bahut vaddi promotion hai, ess layi mein ess topic vich hor koi promotion nahi pauni chauna. Par jaldi hi tusi hor promotions jaroor dekhoge, ohna ohna layi jina ne PJ te hadtorh kam keeta hai.

In India, about 17000 farmers commit suicide. From 1887 to 2007, 10 lac and 95 thousand (10,95,000) people have committed suicide. This is a shame and a big stigma on India.
