You don't know what the situation may have been, so, no point of judging someone. The right thing would be tell the child once he/she's grown up and leave the decision to them whether they want to pursue the relaitonship. Ideally, if I was the kid, I wouldn't want to know. A father is who cares for you, loves you, and is there for you in every fatherly way and not someone who donated some sperm and left. Regardless, if he pursue the relationship, then wouldn't completely shut him off either. Everyone deserves second chances.

Why would you place yourself in a situation when you know you have no future? You know your parents well enough and should know what kind of person they would prefer, if you chose someone accordingly, I'm sure they wouldn't have significant issues with it. Afterall, main goal for the parents is to find their a child a partner who can give them a happy and a successfull life.

This is the way of life not just PJ. People can and will do anything necessary to get their needs fullfilled even if it means using you - FACT of LIFE. So, let's not be so naive to the fact. I'm sure you're not a child, so, learn to be a better judge of character and stop whinning over minute issues. You can't blame someone else for your own flaws. Only you can protect yourself, don't expect others to do so...
