Children do have kind of photographic memory ... called as 'editic memory' ..this allows them to repeat information in exhaustive detail, but usually only shortly after being exposed to it.....researchers suggest that the reason of this can be that they are more likely to store information in a visual way.....as cognitive skills are not that much developed in children as compared to adults.
but this usually fades with growing age as the other cognitive skills develop...
