“A broad classification of the sciences into physical, biological, and social corresponds with three levels of organization of matter and energy, and not only levels, but also quite distinct kinds of organization. The three are sharply increasing orders of complexity, and each includes the lower grades. Vital organization is more intricate than physical organization, and is added to and does not replace physical organization, which is also fully involved in vital organization.”
– George Gaylord Simpson: The Meaning of Evolution The spiritual science is the science of the Soul, the Pure Consciousness, and the common heritage of the entire world. Since the Pure Consciousness is all-pervading and is also the propelling force behind the whole of the existence, the spiritual science is eternally stated to be the science of all sciences. Permeating all possible phenomena of Mother Nature, it, if tuned up, can reveal the hidden mysteries of the universe and even beyond that. Attuned to the same, Vedic Seers, the spiritual-scientists of ancient India, could succeed in unfolding many enigmatic secrets of the cosmos, which are being validated today by the discoveries of modern science. All the researches made by them are recorded in the holy Vedas. India, renowned for its Vedic heritage, has always been enlightening the world with its divine asset of spirituality. The most precious gift granted by this spiritual land, India, is that of the holy texts, the Vedas, which are the complete sciences composed and compiled by great seers of ancient times. In addition, many ancient things have been excavated that prove, without an iota of suspicion, that ancient science was not less developed than our modern science. In 1937, the records made out of stone were found on the uninviting slopes between Tibet and China. The hunt began in 1937-38 in the mountains of Baian-Kara-Ula, the remote slopes located on the border that divides China and Tibet. This archaeological expedition was led by Chi Pu Tei, a professor of archaeology at Beijing University. During their archaeological survey, the team discovered a number of unique cave burial sites. It then made the most incredible discovery. They found unusual disks referred to as “old stone disks”. These disks were approximately 9 inches in diameter, ¾ inches thick, and were having a perfectly round hole of ¾ inches diameter at the centre. Also, on its face was a fine groove spiralling out from the centre to the rim as in a phonograph record. Each disk was etched with a groove, which upon closer inspection came out to be a continuous line of an unknown writing. In total, 716 such records were discovered, dated to between 10,000 and 12,000 years BC old. The Russians examined some of the discs in a Moscow laboratory and claimed to have made two important discoveries:- The discs contained certain traces of metal, particularly cobalt. When placed on a special turntable they hummed in an unusual rhythm like an electrical charge was passing through them. The use of such records in that time period is quite amazing, as how can the intellect be so developed in that era? Isn’t it quite contradictory to the Theory of Evolution? The Russian and American scientists could not deny the fact that the discovered records were no less than the gramophone records, and the use of such an advanced technology in that period perplexed them. Not only this, excavators, even in Japan, could unearth certain statues depicting the space voyages carried out by the then astronauts. The costumes embossed on the statues resemble the space costumes. To their surprise, these statues were found to be 21000 years old. These and many other excavations clearly reveal that ancient science was quite rich and advanced. All these ancient developments were convincingly found to be based on Vedic science, India’s unique heritage in the world. The Vedic science is the treasure house of all possible disciplines ranging from Astronomy to Physiology; e.g., the study of the earth’s orbit around sun, the facts about galaxies, electronic orbitals in an atom, DNA coiling in the cells of our physiology, etc. are all explained in the Vedic science. Even the present day researches made by the scientists can be easily found recorded in the Vedas; for e.g., earlier scientists were of the view that atom is the smallest and hence indivisible particle, but later on they researched out that it can be divided into electrons, protons, and neutrons, which can be further divided into quarks and anti quarks. However, this fact about the divisibility of an atom along with the detail of its constituents, though in different terminology, has already been depicted in the Vedas. Even in the field of mathematics, Vedic science helps in computing all sorts of problems and that too in the easiest fashion. Vedic sutras express these techniques of computation. These sutras have two-fold effect. On one side, they make the mind serene, and on another side, they provide the technique for computing the problem. For instance, there is a Vedic sutra: “nikhilam navatha sharamam dashatha” This sutra explains how to solve the mathematics problem of the type: 92 * 91 So, as per this sutra, subtract tens digit from nine and ones digit from 10. Following this, the outcome is:- 08 * 09 Which upon multiplication gives the result:- 72 Now subtract 09 from the original multiplicand 92:- 92 – 09 = 83 By combining the two results, we get the final answer as 8372. This way, following the various Vedic sutras, the computation of even most complex problems becomes so easy. How could Vedic seers unravel so much? In fact, these great scientists experimented to know the truth behind the creation. Their motive was to explore how this creation came into existence and who is the Creator behind this cosmic creation? Moreover, being the experimenters of the inner world, they very well knew that whatever is visualised in the cosmos outside can be equally perceived within. Banking upon this awareness, they undertook their inner-world as the lab for this celestial research work and Divine Knowledge (Brahm Gyan) as the procedure for experimentation. In the blissful moments of meditative stillness, they beheld the underlying current secretly dancing in the entire gamut of creation. This universal current running through all visible and invisible, form and formless entities is indeed an encoded wave impregnated with all possible secrets of existence. Once attuned to this current, these supra mental personalities decoded it whenever and for whatever it was required, hence enriching the all-round facets of ‘life’ and ‘living’ in the process. 544
