What's their to know or find out? We all know people are starving and dying unnecessarily everywhere. Like I don't get why you need something to be hyped for you to notice it.
If it matters to you, go do something about it.

A life is a life. Obviously it should be treated the same way. People just tend to find it easier to raise awareness about something the have a relation to such as religion.
So Sikhs will find it easier and more relevant to worry and mourn a loss of a Sikh in their community.
Same goes for other religions. Same goes for people belonging to a certain club or something. If a police officer died, cops will run to the family's aid or make it a news story.
I don't necessarily think it's racism. It's just, we find it easier to react to things on that level.
