It's the pathway to the castle/fort. Certain area was protected from enemies. So they blocked off the area around the castle. It's also home to the largest cannon in the world, only used once. Lots of history there.
They had this water tank that held the king's treasure that the the Gandhi government found. Indira Gandhi took like 7 truckloads of treasure from it for the government.
