Interesting Facts About Marriage

  • Wedding rings are often placed on the third finger of the left hand because ancient Egyptians believed the vein in that hand (which the Romans called the “vein of love”) ran directly to the heart.c
  • In many cultures, the groom historically often kidnapped the bride, and the groom’s friends would help him, leading to the modern-day groomsmen. At the alter, the groom always stood on the bride’s right side so his right hand—or his sword hand—would be free to fight/defend a jealous rival.
  • The Fijians believe that the god Nangganangga, who watches over married couples, will not let a bachelor enter Fijian paradise and will turn him to ash if he dies before he is married.
  • Flower girls traditionally threw flower petals in the bride’s path to lead her to a sweet, plentiful future
  • Nearly all cultures have showered the wedding couple with symbolic food. For example, the French throw wheat, Sicilians throw wheat bread and salt, and the English throw pieces of cake. Early Romans or Greeks threw nuts, dates, and seed-bearing plants. Bulgarians have thrown figs. Asians throw rice.
  • Throwing rice at weddings symbolizes fertility, prosperity, and bounty. In some countries, the bride might even carry or wear sheaves of grain. However, many modern churches and wedding locations discourage rice throwing because rice can be fatal for birds who eat it.
  • n Afghanistan, a man who wanted to marry a woman would cut off a lock of her hair or throw a sheet over her and proclaim her his bride.
  • In some African ceremonies, it was a sentiment of well wishing to greet the new bride with the words: “May you bear 12 children with him.
  • In Great Britain, it was considered good luck for the bride to kiss a chimney sweep on her wedding day. He supposedly had special powers, and when he cleans the chimney, he also sweeps away evil spirits
  • The Ozark people located in central America believed placing the dried tongue of a turtle dove in a loved one’s house would persuade him or her to marry
  • In many countries, a yellow wedding dress has traditionally been seen as a sign of a wife’s intention to cheat on her husband or of jealousy.
  • To ensure fertility, the Irish would take a hen that was about to lay an egg and tie it to the wedding bed.
  • In Egypt, women will pinch the bride to bring good luck to those who pinched her.
  • In present-day Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Pakistan, a girl who loses her virginity before marriage may be punished or murdered along with her lover by the males of her own family.f
  • Some tribes in central Asia held that a bride’s hymen should be broken not by her husband, but by her maternal grandfather. If he was not willing or alive, a cousin from her mother’s side was responsible to perform the task.
  • In Siberia, it is believed that it is a sin to remain single and that the soul of a bachelor becomes a dzheretinnik (heretic) that remains on the earth to scare the living
  • In many Muslim countries and parts of Greece, the groom is expected to show the virginal blood on the sheets the morning after the wedding. The couple’s family is waiting outside to ensure the bride was a virgin and the husband was virile.

    Surprising Facts About Kissing

    Some PRO's of Kissing:

      • Passionate kissing burns 6.4 calories a minute. A Hershey’s kiss contains 26 calories, which takes five minutes of walking–or about four minutes of kissing–to burn off.
        • French kissing involves all 34 muscles in the face. A pucker kiss involves only two.
        • Lips are 100 times more sensitive than the tips of the fingers. Not even genitals have as much sensitivity as lips.
        • Kissing is good for teeth. The anticipation of a kiss increases the flow of saliva to the mouth, giving the teeth a plaque-dispersing bath
        • Approximately two-thirds of people tip their head to the right when they kiss.
        • The most important muscle in kissing is the orbicularis oris, also known as the kissing muscle, which allows the lips to “pucker.”
        • The Romans created three categories of kissing: (1) Osculum, a kiss on the cheek, (2) Basium, a kiss on the lips, and (3) Savolium, a deep kiss.
        • The Four Vedic Sanskrit texts (1500 B.C.) contain the first mention of a kiss in writing.
        • Scientists believe that kissing may be a way of exchanging body salts or sebum that form relationships with parents and lovers, just as it does some birds. During mating, some birds chew food, then kiss-feed it to a prospective mate. If a bird’s sebaceous glands are removed so there is no sebum, its mate flies off.
        • The Kama (desire) Sutra (type of verse) lists over 30 types of kisses, such as “fighting of the tongue"
        • Pliny asserts that kissing a donkey’s nostril will cure the common cold.
        • A medieval manuscript warns Japanese men against deep kissing during the female orgasm because a woman might accidentally bite off part of her lover’s tongue

      Some CONS of kiss:

        • Diseases which can be transmitted through kissing include mononucleosis (“kissing disease”) and herpes. Contraction of HIV through kissing is extremely unlikely, though one woman was infected in 1997 when the woman and infected man both had gum disease. Transmission was likely through the man’s blood and not his saliva.
        • The mouth is full of bacteria. When two people kiss, they exchange between 10 million and 1 billion bacteria.

Santa & Banta got tired using mobile cell phones. For a change, they decided to use pigeons to send sweet messages. And this hilarious scheme worked very fine.

One day Santa sends his pigeon.

Banta sees, the pigeon is without any message. He picks his mobile and asks Santa: The pigeon is without any sweet message.

Santa: Oye khotey, that was a missed call.

        Love Pyar / fact
        « on: August 08, 2012, 07:10:11 PM »
If I write you a song, will you listen?
If I make you dinner, will you eat it?
If I give you my heart, will you take it?
If you break my heart, will you fix it?

        Once you have been hurt,
you are so fearful to get attached again.
        You have a fear that
every person is going to break your heart.
I Have Decided To Stay Quite When You Hurt Me….
Because If I Hurt You Back Eventually It Is Gonna Hurt Me More Than You.
You hurt me so bad, You even made me cry
All I ever wanted was for you to love me
For you to give me a try
It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what hurts more is to love someone, and never find the courage to let them know how you feel.
You know what hurts the most??
        .
        .
        The Fact That:
        I Can’t Say, I Lost YOU.
        Because
        Apparently I Never HAD YOU…!
Love is not to blame; people use the name in vain. So don’t do the things that you will regret later. It’s because everything happen for the reason.
It takes a minute to have a crush,
        An hour to like someone,
And a day to love someone,
        But it takes a lifetime
        To forget someone.
IF you love someone don’t keep him in your heart!
        Keep him on your nails!
So if you fail in love,
        Don’t break your heart!
        Just cut the nails!
That’s why girls keep long nails. .
It’s hard to wait around for something you know might never happen, but it’s even harder to give up when it’s everything you want.
Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in a drought – useless and disappointing Listen to your heart before you tell him goodbye.
We always ignore the ones who adore us, and adore the ones who ignore usHe taught me how to love, but not how to stop.
I gave you my heart and you broke it. Now you love me but I don’t love you.
How many times can your heart break until there’s nothing left to be broken?
Love starts with a hug, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.
A million words wouldnt bring you back, I know because I tried. Neither would a million tears, I know because I’ve cried.
The best way to mend a broken heart is time and girlfriends.
I Love the way you look at me
I love the way you talk to me
I love the way you smile at me
I love each day, every minute second and every thought of you
You make my world more beautiful
I am no more with out you!so istill love you even though you hate me because i love the way you hate me
If only u had tried to understand me…
may i had seen dis day…
if only u had understood me we must had been together….
if only……..u had not been in my life….i wud have lived longer a bit……come back..
i heard someone whisper ur name, but when i turned around to c who it was, i notice i was alone, then i realize it was my heart telling me that i miss u.
You know what, in the whole world there is no such darling whom I love and I want the whole world to know that I will never forget you!
There are songs that make you sad when you hear them. But it aren’t the songs that make you sad, it are the people behind the memories.
Sometimes you love something so much that it hurts to leave it, but you must. Sometimes it hurts too much to hold on to that thing you love. And sometimes you let go of what you love because it hurts, but then just sometimes… you get it back and live happily ever after.
I don’t miss him, I miss who I thought he was
I guess that I’m da loser
Cause u hav found some1 new
But I’m still here, still all alone
        Just crying over u
It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what hurts more is to love someone, and never find the courage to let them know how you feel.
A break up is like a broken mirror. It is better to leave it broken than to hurt yourself trying to put it back together.
The hardest thing in life is to watch the one you love, love someone else.
Every heart has a pain. Only the way of expressing it is different. Fools hide it in eyes, while the brilliant hide it in their smile.
I dont want the way you treat me hafsat. You really dont know how much i love in heart.whenever you tell bad words i feel like its my time to die.pls
Sometimes… I wonder why I love you so much.. You are arrogant, harsh and sometimes even disrespectful to me… Other times you are sweet, loving and caring. Maybe if I could teach me to love you just a little less… it wouldn’t hurt as much.
you can hurt me till i love you but not after i start hating you.
        Attraction is the temporary love,
but love is the permanent attraction,
just a game of words but makes lot of difference in life.
        My eyes are blind without
        your eyes to see,
        like a rose without color.
Always be there in my life sweetheart.
Don’t waste your time with jealousy.
Sometimes you are ahead, sometimes behind.
The race is long and in the end it’s only with you.
Your prince will come one day.
He may not ride a white horse
or live in a big castle
but he will love you & only you.
        One will never appreciate love
When it’s still around until it gets away…
I do not need any girl to live with,
Coz i m not alone, my attitude is always there with me.
        TRUST takes years to build,
seconds to break and forever to repair.
I wish for just a few words of love from
a person rather than the applause of thousands of people.
Tear is a sign of Brokenness
& Silence is a sign of Loneliness.

Yeh chandni bhi jin ko choote huye darti hai

Yeh chandni bhi jin ko choote huye darti hai,
Duniya inhi phoolon ko pairon se masalti hai,
Shohrat ki bulandi bhi pal bhar ka tamasha hai,
Jiss daal pe bethe ho woh toot bhi sakti hai,
Lohaan mein chingaari jese koi rakh jaye,
Yu’n yaad teri shab bhar seene mein sulagti hai,
Ajata hai khud kheench kar dil seene se patrri per,
Jab raat ki sarhad se ik rail guzarti hai,
Aansu kabhi palkon per ta-dair nahin rukte,
Urr jate hain yeh panchi jab shaakh lachakti hai,
Khush rang parindon ke laut aaney ke din aye,
Bichrre huye milte hain jab baraf pighalti hai..
