@KotKapura Some friends and I are trying to get people together to develop one. At the moment (we've done plenty of research) the currently available Punjabi Language learning resources either suck, or are too hard to get hold of. Again, for this reason, we're planning on changing that, by developing an online written course (which will be accompanied by videos) for learning Punjabi. My friend, the Punjabi speaking Gora (see video)
and I, Have written up a document which we plan to distribute online, which lists the current best available resources for learning Punjabi. If you're interested (if anyone is interested for that matter) in seeing some of the stuff we've come up with so far, send me a message. If anyone is interested in helping, we need people who are knowledgeable about: Potwari/Mirpuri Dialect Seraiki/Multani Dialect Lahori Punjabi Dialect Malwai Punjabi Dialect Doabi Punjabi Dialect Majhi Punjabi Dialect Shahmukhi Script Gurmukhi Script Making of Online Videos (YouTube) Development of Mobile Phone Apps (iPhone and Android) If you know anything about the above and would like to help out, please send me a message. In addition, if you simple want to help out but aren't too knowledgeable about any thing in specific, you as well are encouraged to send me a message. If someone wants to re write this and post it in Punjabi, that'd be helpful. I haven't got the time or energy to bother at the moment.

You sir, are quite right in saying that there are three main features of keeping a language alive. Speaking, Writing and lastly Reading. I'd like to add to that though, that efforts should be made to not only preserve the language, but also to promote it. Much like yourself, I had to teach myself Punjabi, because my father didn't think it important enough to teach me. This made no difference to me as a child, but when I finally hit those critical thinking years we all go through, it hit me, ke bai main haan punjabi te mainu punjabi nahin aundi. E ki chakkar hai?
And part of the problem with self teaching Punjabi, is that there are very few actually useful resources available, partly because there isn't very much interest in learning Punjabi. People flock to languages like Spanish, German, Chinese and to a much lesser extent, Hindi and Bengali, at least when Indian languages are concerned. They hear the word Punjabi and they think, what? You mean those bollywood songs?
And it's as you've said many times before, I'm sure, that reading is probably one of the more important of the three main keys. It's through reading that we acquire the vocabulary and the understanding of the language, that we're able to come online and write up well thought out posts like the one I'm writing at this moment. I have no chance of writing something like this in Punjabi, because my vocabulary simply isn't there yet.
This is partly due to again, the scarcity of Punjabi language learning resources. So this brings me back to my previous thoughts, in that a big effort needs to be placed on making available to those who are interested, THE tools necessary for learning the language. So that they can be saved the headaches and pains of trying to learn, and not make very much progress, as I'm sure you've encountered, having also self taught yourself the language.
Nowadays, I'm also trying to change people's attitudes towards Punjabi. They think, oh, it's a drunken abusive crude vulgar language. Why not learn Urdu instead? Why not look towards Bengali, because that's where all the poetry and philosophy is. So, it's the job of people like us, who have the interest, the passion for Punjabi, and by extension, Punjabiyat. Be it through writing or through showing them the poetry of Baba Bulleh Shah, or the Philosophy writing of the other great sufi saints.
If no one else is interested, then I guess it's up to the few like us who are, to try to Preserve AND Promote the Punjabi Language. And the thing that pains me the most, is that I love Punjabi and Punjabiyat so very very much, yet I had to write this entire post, in English. Because my vocabulary is terrible? Because I'm not quite able to express such complex thoughts in the Language as of yet?
If and when you have time on your hands, sir, I'd be very much interested in discussing a few projects with you, that I think you'll be quite interested in.
