NEW YORK, May 26 -- A New York man who forgot to feed the parking meter after his daughter was born in the backseat of his van says he plans to fight the $35 ticket.

Orlando Caceres, 31, said his wife, Johanna Melo, 33, went into labor Tuesday morning in the family van while the parents were on their way to drop Caceres' two sons, two nephews and a niece off at school with the couple's 11-month-old son and Caceres' sister also in the car, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.

Caceres said the baby was born in the backseat with the help of his sister, Vianca Caceres.

The parents said they arrived at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital and Caceres parked the car after paramedics helped Johanna and newborn Miah into the hospital. He said he forgot to feed the parking meter, resulting in a $35 parking ticket.

Caceres said he plans to fight the ticket and may bring Miah along to court in support of his story.
