So,I'm not Punjabi, not indian, but I follow Sikhism. Been doing this for two years and was introduce to it by my best friend and I fell in love with the culture and religion. So a given fact is that I want to be with someone with the same believes. All in saying, I want to be with a Punjabi boy from a Sikh background.
Recently I fell in love with one. He and I do love eachother, but due to racial differences, we're not allowed to be together. He recently got engage to another girl from Punjab. Although he doesn't want to, his Parents arranged it without telling him... He can't back out because he can't bring shame to the family. I just feel so stuck... Any advise?

i dun knwo it might seem harsh n very hard to do..buh mapeya ton bahir ho ke veyah karvayon will be like a sin to do... je ghardey hi ni kush tan fir veyah di koye matlab ni reh janda...
tusi sikh culture nu pyar karde o.. eh bahut wadiya gal eh sista g.. buh.. purane lokan nu samajayona ayokha.. assin tan eh sabh ni dekhde buh ohna di sochni aje vi punjab ch hi hundi eh.. ese laye oh edha karde..
assin tan enna hi kahange ke.. step ohhi cukeyo jehde vich tuahdi tey tuahde family di kushi hove... coz at the end family hi kam ayondi eh.. baki sare mukh fer jande ne...

Thanks Jhanda and Mishrim. I do understand... Sad thing is we don't really expect to feel the way we do... As letting him go and if he returns he's mine, well, we tried that, but we ended up being together again... Hard to really let go... But in this situation, I know i should back off because what's done is done and he will be getting married to this girl who he has no idea of... I just feel bad for him... To marry a person you have no idea about..
As for noxious, you have no idea....

It's not that bad. It's a nice surprise to marry randomly. Like gambling, but the risks are analyzed by parents to create profit.

It may be a nice surprise for you, but it wasn't for him. To force someone into something that can make or break their life is a great deal.Especially when knowing how that person feels about it. And there is no profit in this deal I can assure you that... Seeing a girl at a market in punjab and thinking she looks okay, arranging the engagement, and then telling your son BTW your engagement is in 3 days is wrong. But hey, if you like it, then go for it... Life is full of surprises afterall..

Thanks... it means a lot to me... He told me he has a feeling he may not go through with the marriage... The bright side is, at least he won't ruin her life by marrying this girl. The down fall is, I hope he doesn't put his family in a bind... God knows how Punjabi families can be when breaking such ties.... Thanks again for understand.. hope he makes the rite decision where everybody is happy n ya guys r togetheh.. he can atleat try i have seen sikh gurls marrying causion GUYSS or marrying out of their religion of casten trust me they r really happy..itz jus a matteh of understanding sis ji.. they do overreact buh if you try to explain the situation ... they kinda understand it .. they r 1 of us sista ji..n m sure oh mann vi skade ne

There's nothing to it, He will never lie to me of such thing. But baba ji has a plan for all of us... I know that when he takes something away, he's only making room to give me more... And his parents has been asking him, he's answer was always no. Guess they gave up asking LOL
