a bottle of silence

a bottle of silence
an upside down glass,
I sit in the quiet
and remember the past.

my life was unsure
just short of the goal,
so little is left
so little to hold.

to love and to honor
till death do us apart
came from the lips
and not from the heart.

alone at the table, How else can I feel?
serve the dessert I've no time for the meal

A bottle of silence, still an empty glass
as i dry my eyes and remember the PAST.
