World's 10 Largest Stadiums

1) Rungrado May Day Stadium

Situated in: Pyongyang, North Korea
Sports: Athletics, Football and Mass Games
Capacity: 150,000

This stadium is popularly known as may day stadium and it was completed on 1 May, 1989. The stadium holds the record for the highest seating capacity for any non- auto racing stadium. There are also several dance performances which are held in this stadium.

2) Yuva Bharati Krirangan(Salt Lake Stadium)

Situated in: Kolkata, West Bengal, India

Capacity: 120,000

The stadium is commonly known as salt lake stadium and it is the record holder for the largest stadium in India with reference to seating capacity. The major sport played here is Football and athletics are also played here. It has got a three-tier configuration for the seating of the people.

The stadium holds the record for being the largest stadium in the western hemisphere. It was named after James A. Beaver who was a former governor of Pennsylvania. The stadium is a part of a college campus.

The stadium has had a lot of changes and after 79 years of Establishment and 16 expansion projects it is now one of the largest non-auto racing stadium in the world with reference to seating capacity. It is the fifth largest in USA.

10) Camp Nou

Situated in: Barcelona, Spain

The stadium currently holds the record for being the largest stadium in the whole of Europe with reference to seating capacity and it is the only European stadium to come in the list of the top 10 largest stadium by seating capacity.
