I've only read two. The catcher in the rye and To kill a mockingbird.

I was suppose to read both those books for school... but never got around to it... why are they banned?

farnheit banned?
I knew some one sure would raise this question . Some say it is a hoax intended to malign the image of bradbury but opponents claim this book was banned. I tried to buy it from Amazon.com and they said this book is no more available. I was curious to know the reasons behind this ban. I was told that main character Fireman (Montag) was confined the duty of a professional book burner( so the name Fireman ). In the process he burnt Bible too. This act invited the wrath of Church and the book was banned. Though there are some more silly reasons being floated around. Some of my friends tell me this book was never banned and is still freely available.

The Catcher in the Rye, listed under top 100 books of year 2005 by Times magazine, was most censored book and the second most taught book in high schools of USA. But it was also among 10 most challenged books of year 2005 for use of vulgar language. It has been off the list since 2006.

To kill a mockingbird- there are many reaons but use of word nigger 48 times tops the list.
