Well bcz they dream abt angels/fairy ..lolz jk

Babies seem to start out with only two basic ways of communicating/getting attention
crying and smiling

They will do most of what they see most,cz they do imitate what they see
but m not sure..i jst read that somewhere..but Who knows why they smile in their sleep..i wish auh sanu aap dass pauhnde 8->

I have heard from mom that usually in dreams baby talks to "Bemata"(who created the baby) and when she says ur parents have died then baby frowns or get scared during sleep but if Bemata says No, ur parents r fine then baby smiles during sleep..
ok this was answer related to old sayings..
now scientific answer..
Actually during REM phase of sleep, baby is quiet with his eyes open slightly, but sometimes moves his body strongly or twists it slowly. He shrinks his facial muscles, smiles, frowns, and shows a sucking response,So its result of aome myoclonus movement during that active phase of sleep.. neonates cant dream much becoz their memory is very less at that time..
