Let me be the first to clarify this..

First reason cud be extreme low temerature that can damage the light bulb whwnever we will open the freezer.
Secondly, cud be due to energy (electricity) conservation tip..Freezer compressors use energy to extract heat from inside the freezer and spread it to the surrounding area. The hotter the surrounding area, the less heat is extracted from the freezer for a given amount of compressor work, and the less efficient the freezer will be.
and considerble amount of energy wud be needed by freezer to maintain its low temperature.

But u know sweetie, this is mainly for household freezers as those r small compartments but commercial freezers come with lights
Moreover, there r some brands for houshold freezers too which come with lights like Amana and GE but there r not gud reveiws abt those products.
