math:

Code: [Select]

eq 1: h+n=31
eq 2: h-30=n

substitute eq 2 in eq 1:
h + (h - 30) = 31
2h = 30+31
h = 30.5

Now we know h, use it in eq 2:
h-30 = n
30.5-30 = n
.5 = n

Nail is .5 rs and Hammer is 30.5 rs.
solved using substitution method

This is not true. There is only one solution to the Question. -> Hammer - 30.50 & Nail - 0.50
Your answer will be valid if There was an inequality Sign Means - if the statement was "The nail is atleast 30 less than Hammer"

- As lets take 30.90 & .10 Combination... The difference here is more than 30 ...
