The 2009 Fortune Most Powerful Women list is out!
And this is proud moment for Indians.. =D> =D>
The list criteria, in case you're wondering, is four-fold: the size and importance of the woman's business in the global economy, the health and direction of the business, the arc of the woman's career, and social and cultural influence.

1. Indra Nooyi

Chairman and CEO
PepsiCo (PEP)
2009 rank: 1
Age: 54

In her fifth year atop our list, Nooyi completed the purchase of PepsiCo's two largest bottlers, bringing revenues to a projected $60 billion. Now she'll have to deliver the $400 million annual cost savings she promised. Investors seem assured: The stock is up 12% since September 2009.

2. Irene Rosenfeld

Chairman and CEO
Kraft Foods (KFT)
2009 rank: 2
Age: 57

Rosenfeld's battle for candy maker Cadbury rankled Kraft's largest shareholder, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, but analysts say the $19 billion purchase is sweet: It pushes Kraft to $48 billion in revenue and gives the food giant a bigger foothold in emerging markets like India.

3. Patricia Woertz

Chairman, president and CEO
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM)
2009 rank: 3
Age: 57

She built her career in big oil, but now oversees 240 plants that turn agricultural sources into food and chemicals. ADM is already the world's largest corn processor; now Woertz is focused on other fuel and energy sources. Investors clearly like the push: ADM stock has climbed 13% in the past 12 months.

5. Andrea Jung

Avon Products (AVP)
2009 rank: 5
Age: 52

how about we rename it and instead of 2010 call it 2009 and you can post a nwe topic also. ANd we can compare- how it changed within one year.

Most Powerful Women for 2010

1.. Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama is the wife of the 44th and incumbent President of the United States - Barack Obama, and is the first African-American First Lady of the United States. She is also a lawyer and a former Chicago city administrator and community outreach worker.

2. Irene Rosenfeld

She is the CEO of Kraft Foods Inc since June 2006. She was appointed to the additional post of Chairman in March 2007. She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Grocery Manufacturers Association and the Cornell University Board of Trustees.

She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and Statistics, an MBA, and a B.A. degree in Psychology from Cornell University.

3.Oprah Winfrey

She is an American television host of The Oprah Winfrey Show, the highest-rated talk show in U.S. TV history.
In 2009, Oprah will take control of the Discovery Health cable TV network, and convert it to Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

4. Angela Merkel

She was chosen party leader in 2000 for CDU and ran unsuccessfully for chancellor in 2002. In the 2005 election she narrowly defeated Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, winning by just 3 seats, and after the CDU agreed a coalition deal with the Social Democrats (SPD), she was declared Germany's first female chancellor.
In the elections of 27 September 2009, her party, the CDU, obtained the largest share of the votes, and formed a coalition government with the CSU and the Free Democratic Party (FDP). Her government was sworn in on 28 October 2009.

5.Hillary Clinton

She was a United States Senator for New York from 2001 to 2009. She is the wife of the 42nd President of the United States - Bill Clinton, she was the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001.

6.Indra Nooyi

Indra Nooyi is the Newly appointed Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PepsiCo Incorporated On August 14, 2006 - The world's second-largest soft drink maker.

Before joining PepsiCo in 1994, Indra Nooyi was Senior Vice President of Strategy and Strategic Marketing for Asea Brown Boveri, and Vice President and Director of Corporate Strategy and Planning at Motorola.

7. Lady Gaga

Youngest one- Age- 24 years
Lady GaGa got her name when the producer Rob Fusari compared her vocal style to that of Freddie Mercury and took the nickname from the Queen song 'Radio GaGa'.
She is an American recording artist. She began performing in the rock music scene of New York City's Lower East Side in 2003. At the age of 17, Stefani was admitted to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
