Central Bank of Iraq robbery -2003 (nearly one billion dollars)
The biggest robbery in the history of the world took place on 13 March, 2003 when nearly one billion dollars were stolen from central bank of Iraq. It was reported that Saddam Hussein issued a note to the bank authorities in order to withdraw $920 millions. The money was issued to Qusay Hussein who loaded it on truck and disappeared. This buddle of money couldn’t save his life; he was killed by American Army in a battle on July 22, 2003.

Knightsbridge Security Deposit robbery, London, England- 1987 (worth $174 million) as of 2006)
The key player in world’s second biggest bank robbery was Valerio Viccei. He came to London from Italy in 1988. Viccei with his team successfully managed to run away with US$98 million but eventually police followed their footsteps and arrested many people who helped Viccei; he managed to flew to Latin America. He was arrested and sentenced for 22 years. Viccei was killed during a gun fight on the day of his release.

The British Bank of the Middle East Robbery, Lebanon- 1976 (worth £100 million today)
The robbery started in the month of January when twenty members of force-17 occupied the bank they were later joined by locksmiths and safecrackers so that they could break all hurdles. The money, jewelry, gold was divided, PLO taking two third and Corsicans receiving one-third.

Banco Central burglary at Fortaleza, Brazil – 2005 (US$94.3 million)
The biggest robbery in the history of Brazil took place on of 6th and 7th August, 2005. Special tunnel was constructed that was 4 meter beneath the surface having its own lighting and air condition system. Among $94.3 million the police only managed to recover $8.93 million.

Securitas depot robbery, England- 2006 (US$92.5 million)
The manager of the bank was kidnapped while he was driving home by a couple of people wearing police uniform. He, his wife and son were taken to the Securitas depot in Tonbridge while 14 members of the staff were also bound by the robbers. The robbery which started at 1:00 came to an end after one hour and forty five minutes when robbers locked staff members and run away with the money.
