Oil .. NICE, sounds fun .. I never had a chance to work in oil even though i tried many other fields... Probably sometime

I originally did Chemical Engineering at Edinburgh Uni and then followed that with a Phd at Brunell Uni. However, I kept on studying whilst working and was recruited by a small Oil Company of Contractors in a Aberdeen in Scotland. It really just mushroomed from there. Before I knew it, I was working for BP and then moved onto Shell.

Whao very interesting
Phd and then into your profession of Oil .. I see lot of Phd get into teaching ... But I guess it depends on if your field interest you more than teaching or not :)

I think its also the difference in where you studing.... In north America most of the students bail out after Undergrads ... and anyone who gets into grads school is taking teaching as an option.... But the trend of higher study is very prodominent in Europe and Asia - which is good as it help you master your the field you interest in :)

Yeah, the oil industry is a bit cloak & dagger but I guess that’s the way of the world. I have seen some things that would turn anyone’s stomach; especially in the poorer parts of the world due to the oil business.
As to the globetrotting, it can get monotonous at times. I sometimes miss the family a lot. But I do enjoy my work.
