Do anyone knows what up with this caribbean medical school fever going on these days. I mean why every second kid in medical running to carribbean?

- I have so many friends .. Either they are going WI or Manipal.. I do know Canadian medical schools are hard to get in but what you gonna do with this Caribbean degree - Wait for another 6-7 years to just come into the real world. :|

And there is one more thing going on with Punjabi Families.. Get your kid into an NRI quota in one of the Punjab Medical University and then bring them over to states or canada to finish of there education

- I wonder why Doctors/medical students are mostly pissed?

I mean its a lot of burden on a young kid. First you paying 4 times the tution .. Then even if you not the smartest kid (as you didnt go thru competition) ... You have to make up to other kids who are smarter who killed nights to be like what first 200 kids in Punjab.
And then when you done with the degree you still hanging in the middle. dont know what to do.. Damn that is gonna stress the heck of the kid who is like what 20-22 ... NO? :|

And to make it even worse - Punjabi kids are making certificates of being an SC .. So that thwy can be in a Medical school..

If you know you are not gonna make the cut why care to choose it? :|

Naah.. I dont think there is any problem with education in foreign countries.. Sometimes students are not able to get into US Medical school because of GPA problem and less spaces in Medical schools. But if foreign school is accredited then, i dont see any problem with that. Even sometimes, bright students are not able to make it..and Medial profession is not something that if you are good with chemistry and physics in theory then you are best eligible for that it needs more of skill set to do all the procedures. Yeah, its there, foreign students have to go through eligibility certificate test and USMLE step1, 2 and 3 but in US, foreign students make 30% of total physicians. and they have good rapport too.. So no problem..

About Punjabi Medical entrances.. I dont like that system at all.. You cant judge someone's eligibility with 200-400 MCQ in PMT. this really need to get reviewed, and Medical Students are always under stress.. sometimes leads to depression too..I know how it feels.. :(.. and this SC and NRI quota.. this thing is very old.. People are doing it for ages.. and sometimes bright students are victim of this system..
