Ok this is what is required:

You have a group.
As a leader/owner (its imp you do cause you are an owner with followers, so you be speaking there voice) of the group you can send out suggestion to facebook. -  http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=ui_groups
- Try doing it now.. As Barely number wont do anything. A Communication base has to be set up between You and Facebook to fullfil the purpose/goal of the page

And as the owner try building a plan, Who to connect when to do.. What ppl count should be when you will send out the suggestion etc etc ... I mean let say the first suggestion on 1000 Ppl count .. The next on 2000 ppl.. This make facebook believe that you serious about it.
- And also update the Info page.. Right now the Page dont communicate anything other than the title. On the info page Keep track of ppl count, 500 PPL when .. 1000 PPl when... What email sent when and regarding what...  This Would encourage the ppl who are joining, otherwise it look like an odimnary group.
