I've recently read about Panjab Digital Library in Sher-E-Punjab newspaper. This website has been digitizing thousands of Punjabi literature (magazines, newspapers, books, etc), both religious and cultural. You can read it all online.  There is also a very nice search function for literature in English script.

I would recommend that you show this site to your parents, they will find lots of interesting stuff to read.

They're so active that they plan to digitize 50,000 pages each week. They already have about 25,00,000 articles.

They've been featured in a lot of newspapers and magazines, such as Indian Express, Sikh Chic, Sikh Net, The Langar Hall, Times of India, Ajit Jallandhar, etc.
