you know I asked the same question to this aussie guy..
he has lived in india for 6 years.. you know what he said.. ?
he said he was the guy with guts..and he did everything with no violence..his innocence was something those britishers cant resist..

sade india ch jaati paati da kinna bol bala hai.. ik general category bani hai te ik SC/BC.. Gandhi ji ne keha si ki i wana stop this.. islayi ohna ne Ashoota nu keha ki tuhanu koi ashoot ni bulauga ..us layi tuhanu pehla apni reservation khatam karni peni aa.
par they didnt like it..
this thing was for the welfare of those untochables.. but they hated him
these things that australian told me.. and he said we always assume people on our belief..

Gandhi is a controversial figure. I can provide (or atleast link to) a lot of negative critique of his character. But, I personally do not want to judge the man's character anymore. I will say that his promises to the Sikhs were not fulfilled.

But does it really matter if his face is on the Indian currency? I really do not care.

ok think about other countries ..most of the countries in tha world uses the pictures of their first leaders on their currency
so, i dont think so it really matters to me eithier but i wuld love to see indiaz map on indian currency wid signs of all religions and cultures.
but im pretty sure in comin 50 years indian currency ill remain same espacially jinna time ganadhi dio family policts vich hai

- India's map is a disputed topic with the region of Kashmir. Although putting landscapes is OK.

- Putting all religions will really mean putting the Hindu religious signs. After all, Hinduism is in majority. This also will not work because governments usually strive to be secular, so putting any religious sign would be going backwards.
