To the contrary belief, death is what makes life sweet. Take away death - what do you have left? No appreciation for anything? What kind of living would that be? Also, would you really want to live to have your loved ones die and you left alone? Moreover, the question would be - in what essence is immortality coming to you? Would you be of old age and lay in bed the whole time or you wouldn't age?
 
Immortality to yourself alone would be a curse! I wouldn't call it a life.
 
On the other hand, what if everyone was immortal? Damnit, I can see it now, we will run out of all of Earth's resources. Zombies and Vampires walking the streets :laugh: feeding on each other and in the same sense not dying because afterall you are immortal :laugh: that would be a a great life :laugh:
 
Hmm, what if we take out immortality and just settle on living on for a thousand more years? i wonder if technology would have evolved to the point where we as humans may be able to merge with it. ROBOTS - yeah baby! :laugh:
