i never use those words unless im flirting but othr den dat even if im wid my girlfreinds i dnt say dat. just not my thing...lol n i dnt hug ppl wen i meet em either..i hate dat... like punjabis have a habit of huggin wen u meet ...i cnt do dat...it just grosses me out for some reason. :omg: n den there'll be dat awkward pause were da aunty or uncle expects a hug n i just stand there lookin at da floor or sumtin... : its funnii...i dnt do hugs unlesss its my best freinds or siblings or parents or cousins or nephews/neices. hmmm pretty much dts it....oda den dat..hand shake'll do or just a plain old "hi" hahahah :Laugh: i talk so much  :he: :rockon:

yes we people use those words to address someone just because they are nice :) like i called u sweets so many times. It may be wierd for you but thats how our culture is

To be very honest , MOST of the Punjabis don't respect they act as Stupid ! Like if you say thanks and sorry to them they end up giving you words like " look at this guy being english "

Well yes I agree we are affectionate people and like to display it as well. I am very affectionate with my girl friends ... I can be with teh guy frens too but then I might get into trouble :hehe:

I dont know about Kiwis but I see Americans are also very affectionate (whether they mean it or not at least they talk real sugar coated) Honey, hon, .. are words I have heard at work and ol ...

 

I haven't been around desi janta too much, but, what I've observed from PJ is that 65% of the desi guys are very unpleasant, hardly see any affection. Desi girls are standard :)
