PJ contributes to Haiti Earthquake Relief

We noticed a lot of our PJ members were concerned with the Haiti Earthquake crisis. It was indeed a very sad event. Think about your country being destroyed in a single event. The human loss ranges between 50,000 to 200,000, exact number is still to be calculated. Jhanda Amli posted a lot of charity links, and we couldn't be left behind in this important task. So we donated $50 to the cause, and the company that I work for matched that donation amount, making it a $100.

Partners In Health has a received a donation in your honor from Grenade Singh.

Partners In Health addresses global health inequities and social injustice by promoting health and human rights in areas of the world that have been ravaged by political conflict, poverty, and international neglect. We will use this donation to continue our work in Haiti, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Russia, Boston, Rwanda, Lesotho, Malawi, and Burundi.

The donation made in your honor will help us provide free comprehensive health care for the destitute sick in the countries we serve. Our doctors, nurses, and community health workers are committed to alleviating disease and poverty. We believe that adequate housing, food, clean water, and medical care are basic human rights to which everyone is entitled. As such, we do not limit our work to the confines of hospitals or clinics. Partners In Health strives to provide whatever it takes to ensure the health and well-being of patients and their families, including:

• transportation to and from our clinics
• infant formula for babies born to HIV positive mothers
• daily home visits to administer antiretroviral therapy to HIV positive patients
• food packages for malnourished children and their families
• new homes with tin roofs and cement floors for those living in unhealthy conditions
• mosquito bed nets to protect against malaria
• clean running water for communities in need
