Are Khalsa School's (abroad) fees justifiable?
« on: July 31, 2011, 04:46:52 PM »
Khena teh nai chaida .. par aa bhalre muka wich Gurudaware wich jehre Khalsa school ne ... Ohna ne att chukke peyye aa.. Just for a registration form.. They ask you these many dollars. So just to fill up the forms.. U have to pay $675 (NON- REFUNDABLE)... i NEVER SEEN ANY INSTITUTION ASKING FOR THIS MUCH MONEY AS ADMISSION FORM FEE.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!

The monthly fee they asking for is around (on a average.. they might go higher) 300-350 bucks per month. So is this cost justifiable?

I believe is just nuts.. evve janta lutte jande aa gurudaware wich beh ke...  700 dollar addmission fee da.. dus aukha aa..  ethe teh university apply kariye oh we free aa ... three application for university

They charging like a private school.. but they dont pay any money to the govenment as it is under religious institution... then they using gurudawara property so no property tax, no infrastructure cost.. nothing.. then why the hell its not free or just be resonable with the amount of money you asking... evve babbe de gharee bhette lokka de 10aa nuhha de kami lutte jande ne..

- Ethe saree kehde aa ke apde jawak nu punjabi saukhni chaide aa.. par je enne fee rakhoo ge afford kenne karnne aa.. bharaa aukha.. platform he galat aa

I was watching this thing on Vision tv.  They have a khalsa school in Dixie gurudwara.

The admission is $3500. The guy was saying how it's like private school. Most private schools are like 10k.  I can't remember if it was a month for the year.

wow! that's a huge amount. I don't think we have such schools here in US or maybe i'm not aware of them :loll: The gurughars i've been to in multiple cities throughout my childhood ...used to charge from $50-100 for admissions every year and they used to teach you basic punjabi/gurmukhi and how to do path (santhyea diti jandi) ...

but i have heard that in Canada its different they have their whole school system going on at the side of gurughar...like i know one in surrey  i don't remember the name but they have like k-12th classes there and for that i would say they need money because gurughar is a non-profit organization...and if your going to have kids attending k-12th grade how are teachers going to be paid? where as public schools are funded by government.

if i was a parent i wouldn't send my kid to such school...i'll teach them punjabi myself :hehe:

No comments on that :hehe:

i can read and write punjabi so don't judge :hehe: know good enough to teach my kids :D: i've been to those schools they dont teach you much i like the way they teach you how to pronounce gurmukhi words the right way because i have hard time reading path at times other than that i didn't think its all that great i wouldn't pay $3500 to send one kid to learn punjabi not worthed! they'll just take a semester of punjabi in college and thats probably gonna barely cost them about 800-1000 oh still cheap :hehe:
