I recently met a guy and we dated for sometime now, and he has the same surname as i do eg. Gill. I didn't confront with my family before proceeding with this relationship and they said that as long as we are not related is fine, infact my grandparents said the same. just to be on the safe side, we checked the family background and true enough there were not even a slight trace of relations. But the main problem lies in his family, who believes that Gill and Gill can get married even if we are not related, we are like bro and sis.  :dnk:  isn't that like ancient already? my grandparent told me that is what 'those were the days thoughts', these days it doesn't matter as long as u are not related. then why do some people still conservative about this matter :lost:  I even have an uncle who married his wife with a same surname, they seem to lead a happy 27yrs marriage life.

  : that is messed up, seriously we are living in 21st century and there r so many other "serious" things to worry about and people are still stuck with last names  :wait: .....you just tell them that you guys r lucky that ur daughter in law will be at least punjabi....i mean biologically it would made sense if your genes r clashing with his....but u guys are from different families n background....i dont know when people will come out of these small little nonsense priorities  :wow:


i wish u all the luck and just make his parents realize that they can not find anybody better then you for their son...i mean these days people should care about their kids feelings and happiness...other than the  last names when their kids are ready to get married  :cooll:

Last names are modified more than needed over few centuries.......so if you really want the guy's parents to agree.....then you have to do some research and dig deeper....I know you will be fine :)
