Movie available for viewing: Gurdas Mann's Mini Punjab

One word describes this movie best: preachy.  I think the movie make Gurdas Mann too larger than life.  He's shown as a can-do-no-wrong person.  His dialogues are a bit over the top. I remember when Gurdas says: "Mein do pyar karn wale dilan nu udaas hunde nahi vekh sakda" Bhala koi puchan wala hove, bas do dila nu udas ni hunde vekh sakda, bakiya bare ki socheya?

I do see that the movie's morals are very good, but I expected more subtlety. The whole movie feels a little bit on a cheap budget.  It's not up to par on Gurdas Mann's previous movies.

Anyhow, my dad (bapu) loved it. And he wished more people see it. But I told him, the younger generation today doesn't want to hear anyone preaching (which is really their problem).

I recommend all to see it on DVD, we might learn a nice message or two.

Tusi dekhi aa, je dekhi aa kuch punjabi vich likhdayo, mein angrezi de tan phattey chakk ditte.

Preaching is preaching. Subtlety keeti jave ja share-aam loudly. If the message of the movie is good, then that's great.

I like it.  I'm just saying by doing it, he's making the movie unfavorable among the Punjabi audiences.  In other words, I'm reviewing the movie as how I think people see it.  I remember when Harbhajan Mann movies have very good messages and Harbhajan Mann is shown as can-do-no-evil, he's hated for it.  So I would think people feel the same for Gurdas Mann.

The movie's plot resembles a lot of other movies.  If I give any details, they'll spoil all your fun. So, watch the movie and decide for yourself.
