hair care tips for girls
« Reply #84 on: December 27, 2010, 03:03:08 AM »
Blow drying your hair is perhaps the best method to straighten out your curls without treating them chemically ad it can be easily done at home, provided you do it the right way. Carelessness in handling the heat on your hair may damage them permanently. Here are a few tips that you can use to blow dry your hair:
-Wash your hair and dry them using the towel.
-Apply any thermal protector hair product that protects them from heat, especially the hair ends.
-Rub some straightening balm in your palms and massage it in your hair evenly.
-Comb your hair using your finger and then use the blow dryer on a low setting to remove the excess water.
-take a section of your hair and clip rest of them on top.
-Gently brush through the section from roots to ends using a thick, round brush while blow-drying your hair, stretching and straightening your hair at the same time.
-While blow-drying the hair, remember to point the nozzle of the dryer downside to avoid frizzes.
-If you have flyaway hair, you can tame them by applying an anti-frizz serum or pomade on it.
-It is better to blow dry hair while brushing the underside first, so that hairs in the lower section gets dried too and then you can move on to the topmost layer of hair.
-Keep the tension consistent and distribute the heat evenly over the section of the hair to ensure uniform drying of hair and that you do not damage the hair texture.
-Take other sections of hair and keep working on them. It's better to work from the backside of your hair to the front side.
-If you have two crowns on the top of your head, try drying the hair first in the opposite direction and then move on to the direction you want to make them stand uniformly. Drying hair flat to the scalp can only emphasize the double crown.
-Fully dry each section of hair before moving to the next section, so that you don't need to redo it again later.
-The best finishing brush that can give you smooth silky hair look is the large paddle brush.
-If you want to keep curly hair, it is better to blow dry with a diffuser on low speed and apply the hair product while the hair is still damp.Blow drying your hair is perhaps the best method to straighten out your curls without treating them chemically ad it can be easily done at home, provided you do it the right way. How to Get Long, Healthy Hair
« Reply #89 on: June 15, 2012, 04:38:18 AM »
Instructions
1

Eat vitamin-rich and natural foods. Iron, whole grains, fatty acids from foods like fish and nuts, and vitamins B6 and B12 from eggs, bananas and spinach are all essential. Though many women are apt to cut fat out of their diet, it's also critical.
2

Drink a lot of water. If consuming ounces upon ounces of nature's flavorless beverage is difficult, add a low-calorie flavor enhancement, which is better than no water at all.
3

Wash your hair regularly. Learn what schedule works best for your hair. Some responds best to washing every other day. Most importantly, make sure you get all of the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair and off your scalp when you rinse. If your water pressure is not strong enough, try a thinner shampoo.
4

Limit your hair's exposure to heat. Let it air dry when possible. Straighten your hair with a hairbrush while you blow dry to avoid flat iron overuse.
5

Treat tangles with care. To achieve beautiful long hair, you need to minimize breakage. Brush or comb your hair gently, especially if it's already tangled. Work from the bottom of the tangle. As you de-tangle lower portions, brush hair out gradually from higher areas.
6

Minimize the number of hair products you use. Chemicals are like heat to hair -- it can withstand them, but less is better.
7

Embrace your hair's natural texture. The less you fight your hair with heat, chemicals and direct contact, the more time it has to replenish necessary oils and grow.
8

Wear your hair down as much as you can. Elastics pull and break hair.
9

Trim your hair every four to six weeks. Every woman has a point where her hair stops growing healthfully. Beyond that point, it starts to look thin and stringy. Identify that point and keep your hair just above it. Nothing makes hair look healthier than when the ends are thick and sleek with a blunt edge.

How to Grow Hair Longer
« Reply #90 on: June 15, 2012, 04:44:53 AM »
Things You'll Need

a good shampoo and conditioner

hair accessories such as head bands and barettes

Instructions

1

Dispel the notion that growing your hair out means never cutting it. You will still want to have your hair trimmed to keep it healthy and give it some shape. Spacing out your trims to once every two months or so is a good start.
2

Decide on the style you eventually want. Let your stylist know what length or style you're working towards. This way she can trim your hair in a way that can help you reach your goal as quickly as possible.

3

Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Although your hair is dead once it grows out of your scalp, the root is a living part of your body. To ensure maximum growth, take care of yourself by eating right, exercising, and getting enough sleep.
4

Grow out all or most of your layers. Have the bottom of your hair cut while allowing the layers to "catch up." This a great step towards longer hair. Try aiming for a blunt bob-type hairstyle first. It's an easy first goal to achieve and will give your hair a style while it's growing out.
5

Buy a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair. Since you won't be cutting your hair as often, you'll want to make sure you take very good care of it to avoid dryness and damage. If your hair gets dry, it may begin to split, which will rob you of the length you've been working so hard to obtain.
6

Experiment with different looks. Your hair is going to go through many different lengths and styling possibilities on its road to your ultimate hair goal so go with it. Invest in hair accessories such as headbands to keep unruly bangs or side layers at bay and funky clips to add style to layers as they grow out.
7

Fake it. If you're getting frustrated that you'll never get the length you want, try investing in some clip on hair extensions. Having "instant length" is a great way to keep you motivated and make your hair look great during the grow out process.
Tips & Warnings

Be careful about overdoing it with heated styling tools. Too much blow drying or use of flat irons or curling irons can damage hair, causing you to have to cut off more than the small trim you'd normally need.

A great color can be a super addition to your ever-changing looks, but be careful not to over do it. Too much coloring can severly damage your hair so opt for just getting your roots touched up or using a semi-permanent color for complete color changes.
