yaar skin da kidda pata laggda k oily hai ja dry..how can you find that???

you can tell by looking and touching your skin. Dry skin seems rough and it often develops flakes. But, on the other hand, oily skin is very shiny and sort of greasy.

Natural Remedies for Tanning
« Reply #63 on: May 20, 2010, 09:39:30 PM »

There r no of Skin products to deal with this problem..but nothing is better than desi ways..so here are few tips to treat tanning in summer...

1.POTATO to fade the sun tan..

Potato juice also is an effective treatment against Sun tan. A regular application of the juice yields positive results. Potato is also effective against pimples and blackheads make it an ideal ingredient for oily skin.

2.TOMATO for lightening the skin

Tomatoes also prove quite useful in lightening the skin. Mix tomato juice or pulp with curd and apply on the skin for 10-15 minutes. If you would like to exfoliate the skin, you could add oatmeal to this mixture as well. This is especially useful for people with oily skin as it helps get rid of excessive oiliness of the skin.

3.ALMONDS for ensuring lighter tan free skin

Almonds are another effective but slightly costly way of ensuring lighter tan free skin. Soak 2-3 almonds overnight in cold milk, peel the skin and make a paste out of these. Apply on skin, leave for sometime and wash it off. The results are miraculous. The rough Almond particles act as a scrub and remove the dead skin cells as well. This pack is beneficial for those with Dry skin as Almond acts as a natural moisturizer as well.

4.LEMON juice for skin lightening and bleaching

Lemon Juice has been known for ages for its
skin lightening and bleaching properties. But Lemon should not be applied to the skin directly. Prepare a mixture consisting of a few drops of Lemon added to egg white and Honey. Regular application for 20 minutes followed by washing off with cold water would smoothen out the tan and leave your skin glowing as well. Honey and egg white ensure that your skin does not dry out due to the acidic properties in Lemon.

5.BUTTERMILK to fade the sun tan

Buttermilk is another proven recipe to fade the sun tan. Wash you face with Buttermilk regularly for a few days and you would notice the difference. A natural astringent it tones the skin and is ideal for oily to combination skin.

Anything u know new and different..please feel free to share..
Thanks

It's everyone's worst nightmare. Waking up the day before a
special event to discover a big, red pimple baring itself for all
to see right on your face!

Here's how to get rid of it quickly and safely:

1. Don't ever pinch, squeeze or pick at a pimple. This only
causes it to become more red and inflamed, and will spread the
bacteria and oils that caused it in the first place, to other
parts of your face! It can also lead to scars.

2. Every 30 minutes, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it
there for about 2 minutes. This will decrease the swelling and
redness and help shrink the inflammation and pain that sometimes
comes along with it.

3. They don't call it concealer for nothing! Covering the pimple
with a light dose of flesh-tinted concealer can help mask it when
you're in a hurry. It also helps cover up that oily shine.

4. Cleanse your skin 2-3 times a day with mild, unscented soap or
a specialized acne cleanser that has no harsh chemicals (such as
lye). Scrub skin gently with an exfoliating pad or washcloth, but
don't rub too hard, otherwise you'll sap your skin of its own
natural oils, which help to repel buildup naturally.

5. Apply a cream or ointment containing benzyl peroxide or
salicylic acid (many over-the-counter acne medicines contain
these ingredients) to the blemish or around the entire facial
area. Note that these ingredients both have a tendency to dry
out skin if used too much and are not recommended if you have
sensitive skin.

6. Wear oil-free makeup whenever possible. These types have less
of a tendency to cause the pore buildup that results in
blemishes. Remove your makeup nightly and cleanse with an
acne-fighting medicine to remove dirt, oil and makeup from deep
within the skin.

7. If you're in need of a quick fix, a dab of toothpaste on the
affected area right before bed can help soothe irritation and
reduce redness. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton
ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five
minutes can also reduce swelling and redness.

If you follow these tips, chances are you'll notice a significant
difference rather quickly - often within a day or two. If
pimples become a recurring problem or worsen, your doctor or
dermatologist can suggest a daily skin cleansing routine that
will suit your skin type. Other long-term remedies, such as
facial masks, diet adjustments and increasing the amount of water
you drink can also help combat outbreaks.

Skin Care Tips- Clay Mask
« Reply #73 on: September 23, 2010, 07:24:30 PM »
Sometimes the best cures are the least expected. In your skin's case, one of the best methods for cleaning pores is, well, more dirt.Use weekly, a clay mask (also called a mud mask) results in a smooth, supple, deeply clean complexion.

Mixing clay powder with cool, filtered water is the simplest way to prepare a mask, but you can get added benefits by using other liquids. Cool green tea provides an extra antioxidant boost that may help fight the formation of fine lines. To soothe irritated or very dry skin, you can try mixing the clay with cold milk or cream.

1. To start, add one tablespoon of water, green tea, or milk to a small bowl. Gradually add two tablespoons of fine clay powder to the liquid, stirring to prevent clumps. The result should be a smooth paste; if it's too thick or too runny, add a few drops of water or a little more clay to achieve the desired consistency.

2. Using your fingers, apply a thick layer of the paste to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eyes and lips. (For a more even application, use a clean one-inch paintbrush.) Sit back and relax while the mask dries, staying as still as possible so the clay doesn't crack and fall off.

3. After 10 to 12 minutes, rinse with warm water.

4. Pat dry with a fluffy towel and follow with a natural toner and a light moisturizer to soften and nourish skin throughout the day.

Choose the Right Clay
Some clays are gentle skin purifiers that do not absorb oil, making them good for dry or sensitive complexions. Others are deep cleansers that pull oil and toxins from the skin, which can help normalize oily skin and fight the effects of pollution. For best results, choose one that suits your skin type

->Dry or Sensitive Skin
White, pink, or yellow kaolin clay
->Oily Skin
Bentonite, red or blue montmorillonite, French green, red kaolin,
->All Skin Types
Dead Sea clay

Eye Soothers
« Reply #74 on: September 23, 2010, 07:43:09 PM »
The skin in the eye area is especially thin and sensitive, so it flares up fast when you're stressed and fatigued -- or surviving on a less-than-perfect diet. Natural remedies, though, can lessen redness or puffiness almost as quickly as it appears.

1.Green, or Black Tea Bags
Green and black teas contain compounds called tannins, plus caffeine. Tannins have an astringent effect on the skin and shrink swollen tissue, while caffeine constricts blood vessels to reduce swelling.

How to Use
Steep two chamomile, green, or black tea bags in just-boiled water for three minutes. Remove them from the water and place in the refrigerator until cooled. Place one bag over each eye and relax for 15 minutes.

2.Chilled Spoons
In this case, it's the cool temperature of the metal spoons that constricts blood vessels, which helps decrease redness and puffiness in the eye area.

How to Use
Place four metal spoons in a glass of ice water. When chilled, place one spoon on each eye, following the contour of your eye socket. As the spoons begin to warm, switch them with the spoons chilling in the glass of ice water. Continue this process until swelling subsides.

3.Cold Milk

As with the spoon method, temperature is key; cold milk constricts blood vessels and reduces swelling. The fat in whole milk soothes dry, irritated skin.

How to Use
Pour ice-cold whole milk or cream into a small bowl; soak two cotton balls in the liquid. Then squeeze out the cotton balls slightly and put one over each eye. Once the cotton balls warm up, soak two more and repeat for up to 15 minutes.

4.Cucumber Slices
A classic remedy for puffy, irritated eyes, cucumbers contain ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and caffeic acid, both of which help reduce swelling.

How to Use
Rest two 1/2-inch-thick cucumber slices on a bed of ice to chill. Once cool, place one slice over each eye, lean your head back, and relax for 10 to15 minutes. Remove the slices and rinse your face with cool water.

5.Egg Whites
Egg whites act as an astringent, making your skin appear tighter and smoother. They are also high in vitamin B2, or riboflavin, which is associated with improved circulation.

How to Use
Beat two egg whites until stiff, and then apply to the under-eye area using a brush. Let the mixture dry for about 15 minutes; rinse well with water.

To avoid suntan, mash a coconut kernel to a pulp and apply it on your face for 10-15 minutes before washing off with cold water.

Take white flour, mix crushed peppermints and lemon juice. Blend them together. Let it set for about an hour, so it will get thick.
Spread a layer on your face that not too thin and not too thick.

Done regularly, you will notice a difference within a week.

Shining Hair!
To add sheen to your hair, mix the juice of one fresh Orange, Water, 1 tablespoon Honey and 5 drops of Sandalwood Oil.
Use as an after-shampoo rinse for fabulous and perfumed hair!
